While I score for narrative and documentary works, I also create original compositions for all platforms of visual media. I not only apply high quality craftsmanship to each project, but I help to cultivate a cinematic experience that will not only enhance the piece, but bring it to its full fruition. For this commercial, the director and I were tasked to make a video contrasting an Arby's restaurant to a recording studio. I went on location to an Arby's to find complementary items in their kitchen that made similar sounds as musical instruments in a recording studio, to help with transitions between both locations.
For this video, Complex wanted an “elevated” Tiny Desk concert series. I worked alongside the director to create a seamless flow of music, transitioning from one piece to the next. I arranged all the music, hired the musicians, was the music director on set as well as talent, and handed all of the post audio.
I created original content for this corporate video using a combination of electronic and orchestral textures. The piece starts off slow with minimal electronic elements and ramps up to a large orchestral build at the end.
In this piece, the client wanted to show a daily, bustling life in their townhome community. I used percussion steadily throughout this piece to create a sense of urgency to match the vision of the commercial; balanced by minimal piano and a celesta (bells).
In this commercial, I matched the ever-changing era with the corresponding genre of music, staying true to the instrumentation from each time period.
